Yarra trams is the operator of the Melbourne tram network. Melbourne has the third largest tram network in the world with an amazing 245 kilometres of double track. Melbourne’s trams provide convenient and frequent travel through Melbourne's inner suburbs. Most tram lines start from or travel through Melbourne’s CBD, but there are some exceptions. These are called Inner suburb services.

Trams / Lightrail Hours of Operation

Trams services operate seven days a week. 
Trams run between 5am and 1am between Monday and Thursday, 5am to 2am Friday and Saturday and 7am to 12am Sunday.
Tram services operate later on Friday and Saturday nights from the city between midnight and 2am.

Safety Hints When Travelling on Trams

If you are seated, stay seated til the tram comes to a complete stop, then stand and disembark the tram safely.
If standing, please hold onto the hanging hand holders and maintain a balanced stance at all times til the tram comes to a complete stop, then safely disembark.
