2 hour Metcards allow as much travel as desired on all public transport for at least 2 hours within the specified zones and are available for purchase from train stations, trams, buses, The MetShop, The Metcard Helpline, The Metlink Website and Metcard Retailers.
A ticket of the 2 hour persuasion lasts for two hours from the next full hour immediately after its first validation.
For Example:
*Validate at 8.55am - expires 11.00am
*Validate at 9.05am - expires 12.00pm
*Validate for the first time after 6pm and a 2hr ticket will automatically become an all night ticket, expiring 3am the next morning
Daily tickets allow passengers to travel on as many public transport services as they wish on the day of validation only within the chosen zones. No matter what time you vaildate on any given day, the ticket expires at 3am the next morning.
Daily tickets can be purchased from train stations, trams, buses, The MetShop, The Metcard Helpline, The Metlink Website and Metcard retailers.
10 x 2 Hour Metcards
A 10x2hr ticket is a multiple use single ticket that is valid for 2 hours from the next full hour on the first validation of the day and acts like a daily, expiring at 3am the following morning on a second validation in the one day. If the ticket has not passed it's first validation period, the ticket will just validate. No new ink impressions will be made as no new ticket will be processed as the original one is still good. The ticket will have 10 lines of time stamps on it by the time it expires.
For Example:
*Validate at 9:55am - expires 12:00
*Re-Validate at 11:00 the same day- nothing happens because the first validation period has not yet expired, ticket still expires 12:00
*Re-Validate at 12:01pm the same day - expires 3am the next morning
10 x 2hr tickets can be purchased at train stations, The MetShop, The Metcard Helpline and the Metlink Website.
A five in one ticket, the 5xDaily works like 5 daily tickets. Similar to the 10x2 hour ticket, the 5xdaily is stamped 5 times, one for each day of travel.
5xdaily tickets are available from premium stations
